Is the Chen household over its 10% single-stock limit?
Yes. One stock is 22% of household assets across 2 accounts, more than double the 10% IPS limit. Two of three recent officer sales were outside pre-planned 10b5-1 plans.

The tension

Limitless AI meets messy client data.

AI is acceleration. AI is possibility. AI is limitless. But AI is not useful if data quality is missing.

Client positions arrive from different custodians in different formats. Filings get amended and restated. Most AI tools answer anyway.

When a client’s money is involved, that gap is the difference between advice and a guess.

Incomplete

Positions without identifiers, accounts left out of the household view.

Inconsistent

The same company as a ticker at one custodian and a name at another. Filings that restate.

Stale

Last quarter’s holdings presented as today’s. 13F data lands up to 45 days after quarter end.

CapitalRAG was built the other way around: data quality first, intelligence second.

WhatCapitalRAG finds

One stock is 22% of the household, more than double the IPS limit.

  • Insiders sold three times this quarter; two sales were not under pre-planned 10b5-1 plans.
  • The latest 10-Q added a risk factor on losing the company’s largest customer.
  • Top institutional holders have cut their stake two quarters in a row.

Whyit matters

For the client

A single company’s bad news could set their retirement date back years. This is the risk they are least likely to see on their own.

For your practice

Proactive, documented advice on the client’s biggest risk. The filing trail goes straight into the client file.

Your next move

Propose a staged, tax-aware diversification plan and walk the client through the insider and risk-factor evidence.

What you hand the client

A household risk brief, ready before the meeting.

  • Ranked by severity. A restatement warning comes before routine news, so the first page is what matters.
  • Written for the client. Plain language, with the dollar and percentage impact on their household.
  • Sourced line by line. Every finding names the filing and item it came from.
  • Your recommendation, your words. You add the advice. The brief and its sources go into the client file.

Questions advisors ask

Before you connect a client file.

What do I need to get started?

The position export you already have: a CSV or Excel file with account, symbol or company name, shares and market value. CapitalRAG matches each holding to the company’s SEC identifier and shows you every correction it made.

Which holdings does it cover?

Companies that file reports with the SEC. Holdings without SEC company filings, such as Treasuries or municipal bonds, are listed as outside coverage, so nothing is skipped without you knowing.

How current is the information?

Filings are picked up as soon as the SEC publishes them. The timing depends on the filing: companies file an 8-K within four business days of a material event and insiders file a Form 4 within two business days of a trade, while 13F holdings arrive up to 45 days after quarter end.

Does CapitalRAG make recommendations?

No. It finds, explains and sources risk. The advice, and the decision, stay with you and your client.

Can I use it in my compliance records?

Each review keeps the question, the answer and the filings behind it, so you can file a sourced record with the client’s review.

How is client data handled?
